On April 28, 2004 Walter McDougall appeared on the radio show Radio Times hosted by Marty Moss-Coane on WHYY 91 FM. McDougall, a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and Chairman of FPRI’s History Institute, discussed his new book Freedom Just Around the Corner : A New American History: 1585-1828, saying these formative years created the “American character” on account of Americans of enjoying “more opportunity to pursue their ambitions...than any other people in history.”
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
Dr. John M. Templeton, Jr. was dinner chairman.
