Understanding the Koreas: a History Institute for Teachers

On April 9-10, 2005, the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Marvin Wachman Fund for International Education held its 13th History Institute for Teachers, focusing on “Understanding the Koreas.” Specially designed for secondary school teachers and curriculum supervisors, the program featured a series of lectures by leading scholars in several fields. Forty teachers from 17 states attended the weekend conference.

Donald Baker is Associate Professor of History at the Unvierity of British Columbia and director of UBC’s Center for Korean Research, where he specialized in Korean cultural history.

This History Institute was supported by grants from The Annenberg Foundation and the James and Agnes Kim Foundation.
