Understanding the Koreas: a History Institute for Teachers

On April 9-10, 2005, the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Marvin Wachman Fund for International Education held its 13th History Institute for Teachers, focusing on “Understanding the Koreas.” Specially designed for secondary school teachers and curriculum supervisors, the program featured a series of lectures by leading scholars in several fields. Forty teachers from 17 states attended the weekend conference.

G. Cameron Hurst III is Senior Fellow of FPRI and Professor of Japanese and Korean History at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is also Director f the Center for East Asian Studies.

This History Institute was supported by grants from The Annenberg Foundation and the James and Agnes Kim Foundation.
