The Robert Strausz-Hupé Annual Lecture Fund enables FPRI to invite a distinguished scholar or statesman to address a significant international issue each year. Charles B. Grace, Treasurer of FPRI, chairs the lecture series.
Professor Black is the author of numerous books on European history and military history broadly. His books include: The English Seaborne Empire (Yale University Press, 2004); The World in the Twentieth Century (Longman, 2002); and Maps and History: Constructing Images of the Past (Yale, 1997) His FPRI essays, which can be found at www.fpri.org/byauthor.html#black, include “Islam and the West: A Historical Perspective” and “War and Strategy in the 21st century.”
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
