Delivered on October 7, 2005, this lecture was delivered as part of the W. W. Keen Butcher Lecture Series on Military Affairs, established with a contribution from W. W. Keen Butcher on the occasion of FPRI’s 50th anniversary. The lecture did “double-duty” as the keynote of FPRI’s conference on The Future of American Military Strategy.
Michael O’Hanlon appears regularly on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX, and his articles have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. His latest book is Defense Strategy for the Post-Saddam Era (Brookings, 2005).
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
