Kevin McNamara, an FPRI associate scholar, is a former journalist for Calkins Newspapers, former aide to the late U.S. Congressman R. Lawrence Coughlin (R-Pa.), and Assistant Vice President of Drexel University.
His articles have appeared in the American Spectator, Commentary, Defense News, National Review Online, Orbis: A Journal of World Affairs, University Bookman: A Quarterly Review, The World & I, the Chicago Tribune/cite>, Detroit News, Newsday/cite>, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Seattle Times. The author of a children’s book, The Presidency, he has been awarded three grants and fellowships from the Earhart and Tawani Foundations in support of a book he is writing about the Russian Civil War.
He earned the B.A. and M.A. degrees (journalism and political science) from Temple University. He also earned a certificate in national security law from the Center for National Security Law at the University of Virginia’s School of Law, as well as a certificate in nonprofit management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. McNamara is a member of the Philadelphia Committee on Foreign Relations.
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
