Barry Rubin, an FPRI Senior Fellow, is director of the Global Research for International Affairs Center and editor of the Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA) Journal. His books include: The Long War for Freedom: The Arab Struggle for Democracy in the Middle East (Wiley, 2005); Hating America: A History (Oxford 2004), Yasir Arafat: A Political Biography (Oxford, 2003), and The Tragedy of the Middle East (Cambridge, 2002). His articles have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal, and he has appeared on Face the Nation, CBS News, The Larry King Show, and CNN.
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
