Innovation, creating value using new products, processes, institutions, and ideas, is the way that societies are able to improve their standards of living. Understanding innovation as a driving force in world history and economics is an essential 21st Century skill for all students.
Clear and persuasive communication is an essential element of success. By examining intercultural communication and the language of diplomacy, students will become global communicators who forge ties across distance, language and culture.
Understanding the world today requires more than just one dimensional consumption of local media. Rather, gaining a rich understanding of events and motivations requires that one have the media skills necessary to locate, translate, assimilate and integrate many points of view from both formal and informal sources.
