Michael Makara is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is currently an ACOR-CAORC pre-doctoral fellow at the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman, Jordan.
