The Foreign Policy Research Institute announces the election of Dov S. Zakheim as a Vice Chairman of its Board of Trustees, and the election of Gwen Borowsky and Rocco L. Martino as trustees.
The Hon. Dov Zakheim is Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton. From 2001-04, he was Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Defense. He had earlier served in a number of key positions in government and private business. He earned his doctorate in economics and politics at St. Antony's College, University of Oxford.
Rocco Martino has long been in the forefront of computer applications and process innovation almost from the inception of the computer. He founded XRT and CyberFone; he was a professor of mathematics at NYU and a Professor of Systems Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Canada. He earned his Doctorate in Astrophysics from the Institute of Aerospace Studies. In 2007, Dr. Martino founded the Rocco Martino Lectures on Innovation (at FPRI) to promote studies and education in innovation.
Gwen Borowsky is the CEO of the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she was Educator Director for the Liberty Education Center. She has also been a magazine publisher.
Dr.Zakheim joins Bruce H. Hooper, Samuel J. Savitz, and Dr. John M. Templeton, Jr., who are also Vice Chairs. Robert L. Freedman (Of Counsel, Dechert LLP) is Chairman.
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
