FPRI mourns the passing of our trustee General Alexander M. Haig, Jr. on February 20, 2010.
General Haig served as a trustee of FPRI since 1990. In 1979, upon leaving his post as Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, he spent six months at FPRI as Director of our Western Security Program. He also keynoted our first Annual Dinner, held in 1995, and two of our conferences: one on “The Question of Humanitarian Intervention” (2001) and one on “Is There Still a West?” (2004).
On November 15th at the FPRI annual dinner Fouad Ajami was presented with the Seventh Annual Benjamin Franklin Public Service Award. The event was attended by over 360 people.
