In regard to the reaction following President-elect Donald Trump’s telephone call with the President of Taiwan, Dreyer said, “Beijing loves ‘provocations’ to rationalize moves it wanted to take anyway – I can imagine lots of them…I hope that the Trump transition team has foreseen this and given Taiwan its assurances that President Trump will stand behind the country.”
