About the Event

Eric Trager

Drawing on his new book Arab Fall: How the Muslim Brotherhood Won and Lost Egypt in 891 Days, Eric Trager will explore the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise and fall and assess the state of play in Egypt today. An expert on Egyptian politics, Trager is the Esther K. Wagner Fellow at the Washington Institute and a Fellow in FPRI’s Program on the Middle East. He was in Egypt during the 2011 anti-Mubarak revolt and visits frequently to conduct firsthand interviews with leaders in Egypt’s government, military, political parties, media, and civil society. His writings have appeared in Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.
