Broadcasting Change: Arabic Media as a Catalyst for Liberalism

February 07, 2018 | 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm | Middle East Program

About the Event

Broadcasting Change

In his new book, Joseph Braude explores the growing influence of liberalism in Arab media – an important counter to the radical Islamists. How significant are these new voices for change in the Arab world? What kind of changes can they usher in? These and other questions will be explored in Ron Granieri’s conversation with Joseph Braude. Over the past twenty years, Braude has lived and worked in North Africa, the Levant, the Gulf states, and Iran, and is fluent in Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi. He appears frequently in Arab print and broadcast media and is an advisor to the Al-Mesbar Studies and Research Center in Dubai.

Books will be for sale at the event or are available for purchase here.
