The Return of Marco Polo’s World

03/15/2018 - 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

FPRI is excited to present Robert Kaplan and his newest collection of essays, The Return of Marco Polo’s World, described by General David Petraeus as “a truly pathbreaking, brilliant synthesis and analysis of geographic, political, technological, and economic trends with far-reaching consequences.” Kaplan is the best-selling author of eighteen books on foreign affairs and travel, including In Europe’s Shadow; Asia’s Cauldron; The Revenge of Geography; and Balkan Ghosts. For three decades he reported on foreign affairs for The Atlantic. He was previously chief geopolitical analyst at Stratfor, and a member of the Pentagon’s Defense Advisory Board. In 2009, he received FPRI’s Benjamin Franklin Award for Public Service.
