Having been one of the first analysts to sound the alarm in 2016 about Russian attempts to influence the 2020 election and sow divisions within the American polity, Clint Watts has now launched a new FPRI project to study the influence of foreign actors (namely, Russia, China, and Iran) in the 2020 election.  A Distinguished Research Fellow at FPRI and a national security analyst for NBC, Watts is author of Messing with the Enemy: Surviving in a Social Media World of Hackers, Terrorists, Russians, and Fake News, the story of his trajectory doing cutting edge research on the online behavior of jihadis to tracking Russian trolls.
