Iran’s Foreign Policy: A Balancing Act with Europe, America, and Russia
About the Event
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been an American adversary for decades, but its relations with other world powers, like Europe, and Russia, are complicated and multi-faceted. As certain provisions in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action expire, the divergences in how these three powers view Iran has become magnified, particularly over how best to deal with Tehran and its current crop of ruling elites. The Foreign Policy Research Institute invites you to a joint event with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty featuring a discussion on Iranian relations with the United States, the European Union, and the Russian Federation.

Afshon Ostovar - Afshon Ostovar is a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute and the Associate Chair for Research and an Assistant Professor of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School.
Ariane M. Tabatabai - Ariane M. Tabatabai is the Middle East Fellow at the Alliance for Securing Democracy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Prior to joining GMF, she served as an associate political scientist at the RAND Corporation and an adjunct senior research scholar at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
