Asebe Regassa is a senior research and teaching fellow at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Regassa did his PhD in Development Studies at Bayreuth University, Germany, where he researched about human-environment relations within the context of indigenous peoples’ claim to land. His current research themes focus on a range of issues such as Mega-development projects and state consolidation, resource frontiers, borderlands and geopolitical studies, China-Africa relations and peace and conflict. Geographically, he researches on East Africa. Dr. Regassa extensively published articles, book chapters and policy briefs on these and other issues including a book chapter on the economy of Africa-China relations.
