Senior Fellow - National Security Program

Craig Snyder is a Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute National Security Program. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Temple University School of Law, Snyder served as Legislative Assistant for Defense and Foreign Policy and then as Chief of Staff to United States Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) while the senator Chaired the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Outside of government, Snyder has served as as a foreign  policy advisor to the presidential campaign of Senator Robert Dole ( R-KS), as a registered lobbyist on behalf of numerous defense industries and most recently as the President and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and the creator and executive producer of the nationally distributed public television series, “The Whole Truth with David Eisenhower.”

Snyder was the GOP nominee for the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania’s first congressional district in 1992. Presently, he is a frequent television and oped commentator.

The book is a frequently cited reference in the historical and policy literature regarding U.S.- Soviet relations and U.S. national security policy. It summarizes the most important public gathering ever convened for the discussion and debate of strategic defense.
