Jed C. Snyder is a supervisory research professor and team leader at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, U.S. Department of Defense. He oversees programs on the Middle East, South Asia, and the former Soviet south, and he is the editor of After Empire: The Emerging Geopolitics of Central Asia (NDU Press, 1995).
