Karl W. Schweizer

Dr. Karl W. Schweizer is a PH.D. graduate from Cambridge University where he studied with Sir Herbert Butterfield. After senior teaching/administrative positions in Canada, he came to the USA in 1988, being appointed Chairman of the Humanities Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He remained in that position until 1993 when he joined the division of Social Science. He has been a member of the NJIT/Rutgers Federated History Department since 2007 and member of the Graduate School, Rutgers since 1994. Other past appointments include visiting Fellowships at Princeton, Yale, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics. He is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Society of Arts, the International Biographical Association, Cambridge, and the New York Academy of Sciences. He has written or edited 19 books and over 250 articles and reviews on foreign policy, military, and diplomatic history topics.
