Laurie King-Irani (KINGIRANI@cua.edu) is a visiting assistant professor of anthropology at The Catholic University of America, co-founder of Electronic Iraq (www.electroniciraq.net), and the former editor of Middle East Report. She has conducted field research on local governance and conflict resolution in Israel and in Lebanon.
