Neda Bolourchi, JD, PhD, is associate director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University, where she teaches history courses on the Middle East, human rights and Islamic law, and political movements. She formerly worked on allegations of human rights abuses in the Middle East and North Africa as well as civil litigation matters.
