General Philip Breedlove retired from his position at SACEUR in July 2016. During his 40-year career in the military, he completed nine overseas tours and held numerous key commands and staff positions. These included Vice Chief of Staff for the U.S. Air Force and Vice Director for Strategic Plans and Policy on the Joint Staff, as well as Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO.
