Born on March 17, 1980, in Neunkirchen (Saarland), Roman Catholic; married; two children.

1999: High school diploma from Arnold Janssen Gymnasium in St. Wendel; followed by military service. 2000 to 2005: studied law and political science at Saarland University and Université Aix-Marseille III. 2005: first state examination for jurists, 2008: second state examination for jurists, 2008: former scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

2001 to 2005: Student assistant at the Chair of Constitutional and Administrative Law and later research assistant to Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Knies. 2005 to 2022: Lecturer at the following universities: Saarland University, Université de Lorraine, Université Pantheon – Assas Paris II. 2022 to present Lecturer at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris on the Nancy campus (Sciences Po). 2007 to 2009 Corporate lawyer at SaarLB.

2009 to 2017 Member of the Saarland State Parliament (Parliamentary Secretary of the CDU parliamentary group from 2013 to 2017). 2010 to 2017 Secretary General of the CDU Saarland. 2017 to 2022 State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and in the Ministry of Finance and Europe, as well as Representative of the Saarland for Europe. 2022 to 2025 Member of the Saarland State Parliament (deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group). Since 2025 Member of the German Bundestag (CDU/CSU).
