Sadaf Jaffer

Sadaf Jaffer is scholar of Islamic, South Asian, and gender studies. She is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Princeton University Institute for International and Regional Studies where she is working on a book entitled Secularism and Sexuality in Indian Muslim Thought: Ismat Chughtai’s Urdu Literary Progressivism. As an advocate for women’s and human rights, she serves on the boards of The New Agenda and ARTE: Art and Resistance through Education. Jaffer is a graduate of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and earned her PhD from Harvard University.
