Sigita Struberga

Dr. Sigita Struberga is a political scientist and resilience expert who serves as the Secretary General of the Latvian Transatlantic Organization (LATO). Within LATO, Sigita coordinates international relations and security initiatives, in addition to educational and research programs, and organizes one of the largest security forums and platforms for discussions on defense, the Riga Conference. Deeply involved in gender perspectives in security, Sigita also serves as the Head of the Board for Women in International Security Latvia and authors pieces centered on women’s roles in whole-of-society defense. Lastly, she is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Latvia, focusing on Baltic security, strategic communications, and Russian-speaking communities in the Baltic region. For all her accomplishments, she was awarded the Marcin Krol Fellowship from the Visegrad Insight, a fellowship for experts to increase their voices on democratic security in Central and Eastern Europe.
