Stanley R. Sloan is the founding Director of the Atlantic Community Initiative, Visiting Scholar in Political Science at Middlebury College, and President of VIC-Vermont, a private consulting firm. He is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Scowcroft Center of the Atlantic Council of the United States and an Associate Fellow of the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy. He is the author of Transatlantic traumas: Has illiberalism brought the West to the brink of collapse?, which Choice Reviews has honored as an “Outstanding Academic Title” of 2019. He is also the author of Defense of the West: NATO, the European Union, and the Transatlantic Bargain, published by Manchester University Press in 2016.
