Una Aleksandra Bērziņa-Čerenkova is Head of Riga Stradins University China Studies Centre and Head of the New Silk Road programme at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. She has a PhD in Political Science. The topic of her thesis was “Traditional Chinese Discourse in Hu Jintao’s Report to the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China”. She has studied at both Beijing Language University and Beijing Normal University, and spent two semesters as a senior visiting research scholar at Fudan University School of Philosophy, Shanghai.
