Non-Resident Senior Fellow - Asia Program

Yeh-chung Lu is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in the Asia Program at the Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI) and Dean of the College of International Affairs at National Chengchi University (NCCU), where he previously served as Department Chair. He is also Vice President of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy and an advisor to the Research Institute for Democracy, Society, and Emerging Technology. His extensive experience includes participation in the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program and visiting scholar positions at the Henry L. Stimson Center and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, both in Washington, DC. He also served as President of the Association of International Relations in Taiwan from 2021 to 2023.

Professor Lu’s academic expertise centers on US-China relations, American foreign policy, and Chinese foreign policy. His broader research interests encompass international relations theory, international security, and international institutions. His work has been published in esteemed scholarly journals, including Issues & Studies, Journal of Contemporary China, Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, Wentiyu Yanjiu, EurAmerica, East Asian Policy, and Prospect Quarterly, as well as in edited volumes.

He holds a PhD in Political Science from George Washington University, Washington, DC, and BA and MA degrees in Diplomacy from NCCU in Taipei, Taiwan.
