Eastern Mediterranean Crisis: A Conversation with Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Revel

| Middle East Program

About the Event

Tensions in the East Mediterranean have increased in recent years, following the discovery of natural gas reserves in Israeli and Cypriot territorial waters, and overlapping, disputed maritime boundary claims between Turkey and Greece. This area of the world poses unique geostrategic challenges for the United States because its partners and allies are at odds with one another, forcing Washington to debate how best to handle a volatile situation. To discuss events in the region, FPRI is pleased to host Ambassador Shmuel (Sammy) Revel, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Cyprus. The Ambassador will provide a granular level overview and engage in conversation on recent events and explain how Israel views these issues and defines its own economic and national security interests.

This event is exclusively for FPRI partners and board members.
