The Russian Navy: Lessons Learned in Syria

| Eurasia Program

About the Event

The Russian Navy has undergone considerable changes in recent years and Moscow's presence in the Mediterranean has become more pronounced. The war in Syria included Russian naval assets, sent to assistant operations on the ground and in the air in support of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. To discuss Russian combat operations in the Mediteranean, FPRI welcomes Igor Delanoe, Deputy-Head of the French-Russian Analytical Center Observo, and the author of "Russian Naval Forces in the Syrian War," a chapter in FPRI's latest book, Russia’s War in Syria: Assessing Russian Military Capabilities and Lessons Learned.
