Putin’s “Turn to the East” in the Xi Jinping Era

October 19, 2023 | 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm | Eurasia Program

About the Event

While the world focuses on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the big story of the past decade has been Russia’s reorientation from Europe to Asia. Centered on Russia’s “no-limits” partnership with China, but extending well beyond it, this abrupt shift has enabled Russia to become a potent anti-Western force in the world.

Professors Gil Rozman of Princeton University and Gaye Christoffersen of Johns Hopkins University will discuss their new book on the subject with FPRI’s Jacques deLisle and Michael Beckley.

FPRI is happy to provide this event free of charge thanks to the generous support of our members, partners, and event attendees. If you are not currently a member, the suggested donation is $25.
