A nation must think before it acts.
December 14, 2023 | 10:00 am to 11:00 am | Africa Program
Zimbabwe's ruling party won in the August 2023 national elections. The Zimbabwe African National Union–Patriotic Front's win disappointed many outside the country. Still, it was a surprise to none in an election that foreign observers, including the Southern African Development Community election observation team, said was conducted in an atmosphere of violence and intimidation.
Professor Paul Nantulya of the National Defense University's Africa Center and Professor Ibbo Mandaza, director of SAPES Trust, join FPRI Africa Program director Charles Ray to discuss what comes next in this southern African nation.
