Iran Rebuilds its Missile Arsenal: An Open Source Assessment

In September, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Iranian regime has begun to rebuild its missile stockpiles, leveraging spare parts on hand and working in deeply buried facilities. The ability of Iran to produce and fire both missiles and drones has taxed regional missile defense systems, raised questions about American stockpiles of long-range munitions, and is a key variable when assessing the outcome of the US-Israeli air campaign. 

 

FPRI Fellow Sam Lair will join Dr. Aaron Stein, FPRI President, to discuss Iranian missile capabilities and the regime's ability to quickly rebuild its stockpiles—or not. The two will discuss ongoing efforts to track Iranian capabilities by leveraging open-source satellite imagery and how the IDAC team assesses Iran's ability to rebuild its missile arsenal—and when that could happen.
