A nation must think before it acts.
Is there an Obama Doctrine in foreign policy? And can we expect there to be alternative approaches to marshaling American power that will help shape the foreign policy debate in the run-up to the 2016 elections? To answer these questions and more, join host Ron Granieri as he interrogates FPRI Senior Fellow Colin Dueck on the subject of his new book, The Obama Doctrine: American Grand Strategy Today (Oxford University Press, 2015).
A leading scholar of US foreign policy, Dueck is an Associate Professor in the School of Policy, Government, and International Affairs at George Mason University. He studied politics at Princeton University, and international relations at Oxford under a Rhodes scholarship. His other books on American Foreign Policy include Hard Line: The Republican Party and U.S. Foreign Policy since World War II (Princeton, 2010) and Reluctant Crusaders: Power, Culture, and Change in American Grand Strategy (Princeton, 2006).
