A nation must think before it acts.
“While China is certainly going to be important on [Secretory of Defence Ashton Carter’s] agenda, Middle Eastern [sic] and Afghanistan must be given highest priority. I do not think the US can ever extricate itself from the quicksand of the Middle East, and Netanyahu’s aggressive policies are making difficulties for the US in addition to Iraq, Syria, and Iran. There are also immediate problems with Putin in Ukraine, or “Novorossiya” as he likes to call it, that must receive priority.”
