FPRI’s Clint Watts Interviewed on CNN about Terrorists’ Use of Social Media

Clint Watts“al Qaeda was very sort of static in their social media use. It was speeches and videos. What ISIS has done is the’ve made it engaging multimedia and interactive. So you can interract with people that are actualy putting out that propoganda. They really came around and got some technical savvy. They’re doing a lot of automation. You’re talking about 90,000 tweets. That’s not people clicking. That’s people using more sophisticated technology to get that message out.”
