A nation must think before it acts.
“If we don’t understand the past, then we cannot understand the present, much less the future.”
– FPRI Vice Chairman Dov Zakheim
Dear Friends,
Former Undersecretary of Defense Dov Zakheim captured best why we do what we do at FPRI. By exploring contemporary international issues through the lens of history, geography, and culture, we bring clarity to the most pressing foreign policy and national security challenges facing the United States.
In today’s politically charged climate, I am proud to say that FPRI tackles the issues in a non-partisan manner. We have no party line. If you ask our 100 affiliated scholars a question, you will likely get 101 different answers. And each one will be good.
That said, we are not neutral: the purpose of our scholarship is to advance the national interest of the United States. But defining that interest and assessing how best to fulfill it is subject to honest debate.
We see our job as informing that debate.
If you value FPRI as a trustworthy source of knowledge, if you are inspired by the ideal of an informed citizenry, and, if you value the opportunity to make a difference with every dollar you give…
We ask you to make a philanthropic investment in the Foreign Policy Research Institute this #GivingTuesday.
