Do Think Tanks Matter?

With the release of the annual rankings of think tanks around the world on January 30, more than 100 think tanks are sponsoring forums on the role of think tanks in public policy. At FPRI, we featured brief remarks by several FPRI scholars on FPRI’s role in the larger community of think tanks, responding to such questions as What makes FPRI tick? Does FPRI matter? How can we do better? Then we invited our audience to respond with their own thoughts and questions. Participating FPRI scholars include: Michael Noonan, Director of Research; Tally Helfont, Director of the Program on the Middle East; Ronald Granieri, Director of the Center for the Study of America and the West; Jacques deLisle, Director of the Asia Program; Lawrence Husick, co-chair of the Center for the Study of Terrorism; Maia Otarashvili, Deputy Director, Eurasia Program; Dominic Tierney, Templeton Fellow.

The Global Think Tank Index is conducted by the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program, directed by James McGann (also Director of FPRI’s Think Tanks and Foreign Policy Program).
