What would happen if Hezbollah announced a formal separation between its political party and its military wing? Such decision would represent an enormous departure from the group’s history and narrative, build on an ‘holistic’ understanding of ‘resistance’ extending from the battlefield to everyday life. The article examines what would prompt such a move within the organization and examines what the United States’ and EU’s policy response would likely be if confronted with a ‘divided’ Hezbollah.
