China Under Hu Jintao: Opportunities, Dangers, and Dilemmas is edited by Tun-jen Cheng, Jacques deLisle, and Deborah Brown. Jacques deLisle is Director of FPRI’s Asia Program and Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania. The volume includes his essay “China and the WTO: Evolving Agendas of Economic Openness, Domestic Reform, and International Status, and Challenges of the Post-Accession Era.” Deborah Brown is Associate Professor in the Department of Asian Studies at Seton Hall University and an Associate Scholar of FPRI. The book offers a guide to the issues facing China’s leadership, the likely approaches the regime might take, and the prospects for success and failure.
