Ambassador Sabri Boukadoum, Algerian Ambassador to the U.S.

Ambassador Boukadoum served as Algeria’s minister of foreign affairs from 2019 to 2022 and was his country’s permanent representative to the UN from 2014 to 2019. He has also served as ambassador to Portugal and Cote d’Ivoire as well as several other senior diplomatic positions. He was co-facilitator with Denmark in the UN Development System Reform Process adopted by the UNGA in 2018 and an expert for the UN and the African Union in drafting the Pelindaba Treaty (1995) creating an Africa Nuclear Free Zone.  He has participated in more than 20 UNGA as a member of head of delegation and has been a member of the Algerian delegation to several conferences on disarmament. The ambassador speaks Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese.
