Samuel J. Savitz is Founder and Chairman of the Savitz Organization, a Philadelphia-based actuarial and employee benefit consulting firm. Established in 1965, today, it is ranked among the largest such firms in the nation. Throughout his business career, retirement planning for industry has been Mr. Savitz’ principle focus, a subject on which he has extensively written and has addressed in teaching and lectures throughout the United States. He was one of the founding members of The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries and is a Past President of the Society. In addition to his business and professional activities, Mr. Savitz has served on the boards of various civic and cultural institutions, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; Foreign Policy Research Institute; Philadelphia Orchestra; Kimmel Center; National Museum of American Jewish History; Mann Center for the Performing Arts; Peter Nero and the Philly Pops; Abraham Lincoln Foundation, and the National Liberty Museum.
