A nation must think before it acts.

Join the Foreign Policy Research Institute for a live virtual event as the Asia Program commemorates the 45th Anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) with esteemed guest, Laura Rosenberger.
Passed in 1979, the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) stands as a critical pillar of America’s policy toward Taiwan. Congress recognized the importance of supporting Taiwan despite the lack of official diplomatic ties. As we reflect on 45 years since its enactment, the TRA continues to influence the trajectory of peace and stability in East Asia. This event will cover how the TRA has guided American policy since its inception and the role it will play in the next four years.
This is one of two FPRI events marking the 45th Anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act. The first is on April 12 with Matt Pottinger.
Note: Laura Rosenberger is speaking in her capacity as the Chair of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and does not represent the U.S. government in any official capacity.
