Post-election violence in Tanzania

November 17, 2025 | 10:30 am to 11:30 am | Africa Program

About the Event

Tanzania has long been a model of representative government and stability in East Africa. Recent elections have sparked public discontent, demonstrations, and violent reactions from government security forces.

Iman Hatibu will join FPRI trustee and Africa Program chair Charles A. Ray to discuss the current situation in Tanzania and the way forward.

FPRI is happy to provide this event free of charge thanks to the generous support of our members, partners, and event attendees. If you are not currently a member, the suggested donation is $25.
