Samuel Helfont, FPRI Associate Scholar, is the author of YUSUF AL-QARADAWI: ISLAM AND MODERNITY (2009) and the FPRI monograph THE SUNNI DIVIDE: UNDERSTANDING POLITICS AND TERRORISM IN THE ARAB MIDDLE EAST. He is a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow in Princeton University's Department of Near Eastern Studies, where he is pursuing a Ph.D.
