Laurie Mylroie is a fellow in Arab politics at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. She is co-author, with Judith Miller, of Saddam Hussein and the Crisis in the Gulf (Random House, 1990) and is working on a study, Iraq Since the Gulf War How Saddam Hussein Survived.
